Growing citrus, fruit trees topic of seminar
University of Nevada Cooperative Extension will present a free seminar Tuesday about growing citrus and other tender subtropical fruit trees in Southern Nevada. The seminar is scheduled from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in classrooms C and D at the Lifelong Learning Center, 8050 S. Maryland Parkway.
Tom Spellman from Dave Wilson Nursery in California will be the featured guest speaker. Spellman has nearly 30 years of experience growing avocados, citrus, subtropical and deciduous fruit trees
“If you have any current problems on your trees that you want addressed, bring a sample to the seminar,” Spellman said.

Japanese expert to teach at workshop
The Ikenobo Ikebana Society, Nevada Chapter, will host a two-day workshop June 28 and 29 at the Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson.
Mitsumasa Toyoda, a senior professor from Japan, will share his expertise.
Ikebana is the ancient art of Japanese flower arrangement.
Cost of the workshop is $70 per day, which includes all floral materials and lunch.

Nest Featherings series to focus on accessories
Nest Featherings, a furniture retailer and interior design services provider in Las Vegas, will present a seminar about interior accessories at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Entitled “Change Your Accessories: Keep Your Furniture, Get a New Look,” the session will show participants how they can create an entirely new look in their home simply by changing a few accessories.
