Heltzer introduces Great Lakes

Continuing its legacy of insightful, fastidious engineering, Heltzer Furniture has introduced its latest outdoor collection, Great Lakes. The collection was designed by Terry Hunziker and focuses on detailed craftsmanship.

The collection, made of handcrafted aluminum frames, includes a dining table and chairs, coffee and occasional tables, two-seat lounger, lounge chair, ottoman and planters. They are offered in five powder-coat finishes: bronze, silver, storm, chalk and sand dollar.

Additionally, the pieces feature a choice of teak, offered in four finishes, or Ecoplex, a new composite material that is environmentally friendly and virtually maintenance free.

Details are the focal point of the collection. Inlays, in either teak or Ecoplex, are cradled on the arm of the lounge chair and two-seat lounger. The dining table features insets at the base of the table, which give design detail to the metal-framed table legs. The occasional and coffee table legs integrate the top and base.

Each piece within the collection is handcrafted and engineered through the manufacturer’s controlled processes to ensure every product meets its level of detail and quality.

Hunziker is a designer of interiors, interior architecture, furniture, lighting and textiles. Although he studied fine arts, interior design and architecture at Washington State University and the University of Washington, he considers himself basically self-taught in part under the tutelage of Jean Jongeward, a well-known designer in the Northwest during the 1970s and ’80s. Hunziker founded his firm in 1984 and has worked on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial and public.

He has been listed on Architectural Digest’s list of 100 best designers since its inception in 1990. Great Lakes is his first collection for Heltzer.

Great Lakes, as with all Heltzer furnishings, is available through interior designers and architects.
