Celebrity designer to speak at center
Alexandra Stoddard, an internationally celebrated and acclaimed interior designer, will be the guest at the Dec. 7 First Friday event at the Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center.
Stoddard will present “A Personal Glimpse into Alexandra Stoddard’s Life at Home,” offering a guided tour through her apartment in New York and 18th-century cottage in Connecticut.
Author of more than two dozen books and a sought-after speaker on the art of living, Stoddard has been called a “house doctor.” She wrote the best-selling and ground-breaking “Living a Beautiful Life,” and has guided people from all walks of life in their quests to create a home of beauty.
The design center will have some of Stoddard’s books for sale during the event.
Her presentation is scheduled from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on the 16th floor of Building B at the World Market Center, 495 S. Grand Central Parkway. It is open to interior designers, design professionals and others in the home-furnishings industry.

The day’s activities also will include showroom specials and hospitality.
Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, the center is a year-round facility offering 400,000 square feet of the newest products, trends and styles in furniture, lighting, floral, accessories, rugs and wall décor.
Pedraz joins design management firm
Design Management Co., a New York and Los Angeles-based strategic management firm for the home-furnishing and design industry, has named Victor Pedraz senior vice president of manufacturer services.
Pedraz, a 30-year industry veteran and former director of the Las Vegas Design Center, will be responsible for showrooms, distribution and business development for the company’s U.S. and global clients.
During his career, Pedraz has developed and launched many new lines and collections for domestic and foreign suppliers.
