Butera to speak at design center
Nationally known lifestyle designer Barclay Butera will be the featured speaker at March’s First Friday event at the Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center.
Butera will offer a candid look at his approach to design and interiors during his talk, “Barclay Butera on Transitional Style,” which is scheduled from 10-11:30 a.m. Friday.
Additionally, he will talk about using textures, symmetry and layering in transitional design, how to incorporate client collections and heritage pieces into a design, and merging indoor and outdoor living.
Butera has been redefining luxury for 15 years, helping clients achieve inspired interiors through his “Better-Best” concept of living. His transitional style is grounded in European, American and Far East traditional influences and invigorated by his own contemporary twist. He recently designed both Veranda’s and Esquire’s fall design show houses, and his own home was published in Traditional Home this fall.
Emphasizing clean, classic tailored lines and the importance of intriguing textiles, Butera’s “fashion for the home” is a seamless blend of integrity, creativity and timelessness.
“Furnishings don’t make a home, life does. And life isn’t something that comes from a store,” Butera said. “Design is the way you present your lifestyle to the world. And that’s when the right furnishings make all the difference.”
Butera’s lecture will take place on the 16th floor of World Market Center’s Building B, 475 S. Grand Central Parkway.
The day’s activities also will include showroom specials and hospitality.
The event is open to members of the home-furnishings industry and design professionals.
Reservations are requested and can be made by e-mail to lvdc@lvdesigncenter.com or calling 599-3093.
