PBS offers sneak peak at Vegas ‘Roadshow’
Vegas PBS will host a premiere screening of the first of three “Antiques Roadshow” episodes filmed in Las Vegas on Wednesday, April 30, at 2 and 6:30 p.m. in the theater of the main branch of the Clark County Library.
The program’s production team visited Las Vegas in August 2007 and invited local residents to have their heirlooms appraised by more than 70 experts in fields ranging from folk art to sports memorabilia.
“The excitement surrounding the program’s visit to Las Vegas and our viewer’s eagerness to discover what items our residents had appraised contribute to making ‘Antiques Roadshow’ the highest-rated program on Vegas PBS,” said Tom Axtell, Vegas PBS general manager.
Now in its 12th season, the five-time Emmy Award-nominated show captures the tales of family heirlooms, yard-sale bargains and long-lost items salvaged from attics and basements, while experts reveal the fascinating truths about these finds. Nearly 11 million viewers watch the show each week.
The Clark County Library theater is located at 1401 E. Flamingo Road.
Area viewers can see Las Vegas episodes of “Antiques Roadshow” beginning May 12 at 8 p.m. on Channel 10.
