Commercial design conference scheduled

The American Society of Interior Designers is joining with Contract Interiors Marketing Association to present the 2008 IntersectWest commercial design conference and educational seminars. The show will be held Feb. 5-7 at the Sands Exposition Center.

The three-day event will connect approximately 2,500 industry professionals with the latest issues and trends in product and design for commercial interiors. Attendees will browse exhibit space showcasing the newest products, participate in engaging seminars and network with other professionals.

Educational seminars vary, with an emphasis on the future of design and impact of environmental design. Among the topics to be discussed are restaurant and spa design, recent research in green marketing and product design, adapting nursing facilities and homes for new approaches in care, and environmental materials.

The final day of the conference has been dubbed student career day and will include special programming geared toward emerging professionals.

“IntersectWest is a new, intimate conference and exhibition devoted to the Western United States and office, education and health care product trends and introductions,” said Dick Sinclair, president of CIMA. “In collaboration with the interior design industry, it’s about focusing on the intersection of new ideas and innovations brought by the leading practitioners and thinkers in the field. We are excited to have partnered with ASID to further enhance this great show.”
