Business of design focus of speaker
Legal and financial issues for interior designers will be the topic of discussion at Friday’s First Friday event at the Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center Las Vegas.
Bobi Leonard, founder and chief executive officer of Arcara Enterprises Inc., will be the featured speaker. She will present “The Legal Aspects of a Successful Design Business — How to be a Financially Independent Interior Designer.”
Leonard’s talk is scheduled from 10-11:30 a.m. in the World Forum on the 16th floor of Building B at the downtown campus.
During her talk, Leonard plans to discuss topics such as pitfalls to avoid, documents, contractual language, client, vendor and contractor agreements, billing, charging and how to protect your money.
An innovative force in American interior design for more than two decades, Leonard also has been a pioneer in the revitalization of Santa Monica’s Main Street district. For more than 30 years, she worked with Hollywood’s top stars, including Candice Bergen, Robert Redford, Beverly Sassoon, Engelbert Humperdinck, Burt Young, Marcus Allen, Greg Morris and Jon Bon Jovi, as well as upscale, international commercial projects.
After selling her design business in 1999, she dedicated her time to teaching others her formula for success in business. She currently counsels 50-plus companies. She also has been a guest on television shows nationwide and received awards for her work.
