Southern Hills Hospital has opened a 14-bed, in-patient specialty unit for people 55 and older with behavioral health needs.
The RISE (Respect, Inspire, Strengthen, Empower) Behavioral Health Department, which opened Jan. 4, will provide treatment for depression, dementia, psychosis, anxiety and other disorders.
“The economic downturn has created a very high stress level in our community,” Kimball Anderson, chief executive officer of Southern Hills Hospital, said in a statement. “The RISE Behavioral Health Unit provides a much-needed service specifically for our aging population.”
