Health district offers school immunizations

The Southern Nevada Health District will offer several back-to-school immunization clinics in August, including two Saturday clinics at the district main office in Las Vegas.

Health district officials say 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. clinics Aug. 20 and Aug. 27 will be at the Ravenholt Public Health Center on Shadow Lane. The dates are in addition to weekday clinics there and in North Las Vegas, Henderson and Mesquite.

District officials say immunizations are available year-round. They’re mandatory for pre-schoolers, kindergartners and 7th graders.

Parents must bring immunization records. Fees are $16 per patient for one shot or $25 per patient for two or more shots. Children with no records have to begin the immunization sequence from the beginning. Classes start Aug. 29 at schools in the Clark County School District.
