Childhood Cancer Foundation offering service for adults

The Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation has merged with The Caring Place, giving it the opportunity to provide services for adults for the first time in its 18-year history.

“We see parents’ and caregivers’ lives change as they help their children battle cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, but have not been able to offer services specific to those adults,” Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation President and CEO Jeff Gordon said in a statement. “With the addition of The Caring Place, we can now offer a full package of assistance to all those who walk through our doors.”

Gordon agreed to serve as executive administrator for The Caring Place.

The merger, approved by the NCCF board of directors, combines cancer-focused nonprofit organizations, one dedicated to children and the other to adults.

“We are honored to be a part of Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation and look forward to expanding our programs and services to better serve families in Southern Nevada,” said Pati Kearns, director of The Caring Place Program.
