First Friday Fashion

When art lovers strolled downtown last week, perusing the First Friday scene, they probably didn’t expect to find a catwalk on the corner of Casino Center Boulevard and California Street. Two local up-and-coming design companies put on a fashion show in the heart of the monthly street festival. Funk City, a vintage redesign line, and Altered Nation, a clothing line made of recyclable clothes, sent their garments down the runway and onlookers gazed the same way they would at any other work of art — in appreciation.
