Community school celebrates 16th anniversary

Johnson Community School’s 16th anniversary celebration will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 11 in neighboring Ansan Sister City Park.

The free event will begin with games and activities for children. Complimentary ice cream sundaes will be served. A family movie will be shown on a big screen beginning at dark.

The park is on Ducharme Avenue between Buffalo Drive and Cimarron Road. Families can bring flashlights, blankets, low chairs, picnics and toys.

The event is presented by the city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services’ Johnson Community School, 340 Villa Monterey Drive.

The school offers preschool-age programs; track break; holiday and summer camps; after-school programs; youth and adult sports; family activities; computer, art, Spanish and craft classes; and special events.
