Santa Cruises return to Lake Las Vegas

Santa Claus is returning to the Lake Las Vegas community on Saturdays until Christmas to relax and hear kids’ wishes during his busiest time of the year. He’s hitting a few balls on the Reflection Bay Golf Course — a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design – and inviting children to cruise with him on the 320-acre lake.

The La Contessa yacht has been transformed into a winter wonderland with Christmas trees, poinsettias and lights for Santa Cruises. Children can enjoy holiday-inspired games, such as Santa Dunk, Reindeer Roundup, Toss your Cookies and Snow Attack for tickets to redeem at the prize center and receive gift bags with juice, candy and cookies. Santa and his elf will be available for pictures, with downloadable photos within 48 hours of the cruise. There will be a cash bar for adults.

“The holidays are about bringing people together, and we’ve created a memorable way for this with the Santa Cruises,” said Cody Winterton, executive vice president of Raintree Investment Corp., developer of Lake Las Vegas. “The response was so great after introducing them last year that we brought them back with more activities. Plus, our lake, yacht and beautiful environment provide such a scenic backdrop for holiday photos.”

The Santa Cruise will sail at 1:30 p.m. Dec.3 and Dec. 17 and at 11 a.m. on Dec. 10. Admission is $20 per person with boarding at the Lake Las Vegas Marina in MonteLago Village. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Children can visit Santa Claus at the MonteLago Village gazebo from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today and Dec. 17 and from noon to 2 p.m. on Dec. 10. There will be free Christmas Express train rides and $1 hot cocoa or peppermint hot cocoa at Seasons Grocery from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For Santa Cruise reservations, visit https://app.arts-people.com/index.php?show=70785. Additional cruises may be added.

Seasons Grocery is conducting a canned food drive for those less fortunate through Dec. 22 for the nonprofit Three Square Food Bank. Before or after visiting Santa, drop off two or more cans and receive a coupon for 10 percent off any grocery purchase of $25 or more.

Attendees are invited to tour the Lake Las Vegas community, which is offering new homes in six contemporary neighborhoods by William Lyon Homes, CalAtlantic Homes, Century Communities and Toll Brothers. The new collections feature gated privacy, single-level and two-story designs and view locations.

The MonteLago Village is at 15 Costa di Lago in Henderson, minutes from Galleria Parkway and Interstate 515/U.S. Highway 95 or off Lake Mead Parkway and Lake Las Vegas Parkway. Free parking is available at the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa parking garage adjacent to MonteLago Village. For information, visit https://lakelasvegas.com/events/.
