Retirees put down roots at One Las Vegas

Stefan and Nilda Mantovani met in New York in 2001 and up until last summer, the Big Apple was simply everything they ever wanted in a home. But when they decided to retire a few years ago, their need for change was magnified. Their search for a new lifestyle led them to Nevada and to high-rise condominium community One Las Vegas, where they are now homeowners of a two-bedroom unit with picture-perfect views and an active lifestyle — both physically and socially, created by state-of-the-art amenities and a full schedule of resident events and gatherings.

Stefan, a teacher from Manhattan, and Nilda, a nurse from the Philippines, have much in common, including their passion for discovering new cities and meeting new people. When they decided to transition into retirement in 2013, Stefan approached his wife with the idea of finding new stomping grounds.

“We often took trips to Las Vegas, amongst many other destinations, but there was something about this city that kept drawing us back,” Stefan said. “My wife was excited with the thought of a new city but at the same time, felt unsure about leaving the place where we raised our three children. Finally, we agreed to rent for the short-term to ensure that it was, in fact, our right next move.”

The Mantovanis looked at properties in all corners of the valley, including Henderson and Summerlin. Nilda spotted the twin towers of One Las Vegas from a distance and was immediately drawn to learning more about its high-rise condominium lifestyle.

“When we walked into One Las Vegas and met with the friendly sales team, my reservations about becoming Las Vegas residents slowly slipped away,” Nilda said. “I had mentally prepared a checklist of amenities, and through our presentation of the community’s robust amenities and spacious floor plans, I easily checked off everything on my list and added many more amenities I wasn’t expecting. Soon, I was not only ready to move, I was ready to commit to buying a home at One Las Vegas.”

Stefan and Nilda now enjoy a long list of benefits to being residents at One Las Vegas and especially appreciate the proximity to the Strip for entertainment and fun, One Las Vegas’ 24/7 security, concierge services, state-of-the-art fitness center and pool. The Mantovanis are social butterflies, so they particularly enjoy One Las Vegas’ trivia nights, where they have already made friends with many neighbors.

“As frequent travelers, we can leave for extended vacations without worrying about the security of our home,” Stefan said. “And with an extra bedroom and a very open floor plan, we are excited to host visitors, including our kids. The only regret we have after buying our dream home at One Las Vegas is that we didn’t do it sooner.”

Of the twin 20-story towers, DK Las purchased 295 of the project’s 359 residences. Homes range from 831 to 2,857 square feet with many floor plans, offering spectacular views of the mountains and the Strip. One-bedroom homes are priced from the low $200,000s; two-bedroom homes from the high $200,000s; and three-bedroom homes from the low $400,000s. The penthouse, offering 3,000 square feet of sweeping views, is priced at $1.1 million.

One Las Vegas is close to I-15, the 215 Beltway and just minutes from McCarran International Airport. Town Square, just a few blocks north of the property, provides one-stop shopping and scores of dining and entertainment options right in the neighborhood.

For more information, visit the One Las Vegas onsite sales center at 8255 S. Las Vegas Blvd, or online at info@theonelv.com. The sales center is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
