Playground in Cadence features climbing wall

Southern Nevadans have a new place to play as Cadence, a 2,200-acre, master-planned community in Henderson, has opened its dynamic adventure playground.

The adventure playground is within Cadence’s 50-acre Central Park and boasts a climbing wall, timber climber, balance net, play tunnel, landscape stumps, a rope climber and slides galore. The playground includes separate areas for younger children and teens — scaled for age and ability — and will be open to the public year-round.

“Cadence is known for promoting an active lifestyle for its residents and the broader Henderson community,” said Cheryl Gowan, representative for The LandWell Co., developer of Cadence. “Our adventure playground perfectly complements our offerings here and is sure to be a vibrant setting for so many memories for kids, teens and their families in the years ahead.”

To celebrate the grand opening, Henderson dignitaries joined executives from The LandWell Co. for a ceremony on Sept. 16. Acrobats, a juggler, a contortionist and stilt walker were roving the grounds and engaging with attendees.

Cadence will boast more than 13,250 homes. More than 500 families now call Cadence home. Cadence will feature 450 acres of open space, including 30 acres of trails for walking, hiking and biking that interconnect to the Las Vegas Wash Trail and River Mountain Loop Trail.

Cadence offers the area’s only residential bike share program and recently broke ground on three dog parks. A 100-acre sports park will include basketball and tennis courts and fields for soccer, softball and other popular recreational sports.

Six school sites, retail centers, including a grocery store, and other services and nearby business parks are also part of Cadence.

The LandWell Co., the real estate development division of Basic Management Inc., is developing the community, which offers homes starting from the low $200,000s.
