Mountain’s Edge free concert, festival to be held May 7

Local country rock band Thrillbilly Deluxe returns to open the free Country in the Park concert and festival with an energetic rockin’ country show that made the group a fan favorite at last year’s event. The band will perform from 2 to 4 p.m. May 7 at Exploration Park in Mountain’s Edge. The festivities will continue until 8 p.m. with performances by country music stalwart Joe Nichols and rising star Brett Young.

“We’re excited to return to Country in the Park and putting on another great show. Last year was so much fun, and the country music fans in Las Vegas truly make us feel appreciated,” said Kyle Adoor, bass player for Thrillbilly Deluxe. “It’s great to share the Country in the Park stage with top country stars, watch them perform and find out they’re just as down to earth as anyone. We love the Exploration Park outdoor amphitheater, and look forward to meeting and listening to Joe Nichols and Brett Young.”

Formed in 2011, Thrillbilly Deluxe is four-member country rock band from Las Vegas that has gained an enthusiastic and growing fan base with their rousing performances and covers of hit country songs as well as classic country and rock.

In addition to Adoor, band members are Tony Parker, lead vocalist and guitarist; Eugene Altobella, drummer; and Troy Poe, lead guitarist and backing vocalist. They recently released their new self-produced single “Too Late,” which is available on iTunes.

Now in its 10th year, Country in the Park is presented by the Mountain’s Edge and Las Vegas’ new country leader 95.5 The Bull. Festivities include a beer garden, food vendors, booths, exhibits and kid’s activities. Picnic baskets, chairs, blankets and well-behaved leashed pets are welcome. Alcohol, coolers and glass are not allowed in the park.

Attendees also can explore the 80-acre park’s replicas of an Old Western village and archeological dig area, Native American-themed play structures, splash pad, picnic areas and the 2,846-foot-tall Exploration Peak with hiking and cycling trails and panoramic views of the Las Vegas Valley.

Located in southwest Las Vegas, Mountain’s Edge features versatile offerings from CalAtlantic Homes, Century Communities, KB Home, Lennar, Pulte Homes, Richmond American Homes and Ryland Homes.

Exploration Park is at 9700 S. Buffalo Drive, just south of the Mountain’s Edge entrance and Blue Diamond Raod.
