Master plan to hold Halloween events

Enjoy Halloween with several events for the entire family — and four-legged friends — today, Sunday and Monday as the Lake Las Vegas Fall Festival continues in MonteLago Village.

Featured activities today are a pumpkin carving contest for kids and adults from 2 to 4 p.m. and Halloweenie: The Doggie Costume Contest from 3 to 5 p.m. Prizes will be awarded.

These contests are in addition to free daily activities occurring through Nov. 27, including a hay bale maze, trick or trike tricycle course, pumpkin patch, and corn pile where kids of all ages can play in a giant pile of real corn kernels.

Attendees also can enjoy today’s Cheese Monger, a “Wine &Cheese 101” featuring a variety of cheese and wine from across the globe. Cheese specialist Kelly Kinsey of Kahe Fresh and Jody Puffer of Associated Food Stores will be on hand to discuss the meticulously matched pairings. The free event is from 4 to 8 p.m. in the new Seasons Grocery.

On Sunday, dress up and bring your kids to trick-or-treat throughout the Village from 1 to 6 p.m.

Adults will get their turn with a special Halloween night cruise on Monday. Shipwrecked: A Haunted Cruise will sail from 7 to 9 p.m. around the lake and feature a costume contest and prizes, raffle, music, free appetizers and Captain Morgan Rum drinks, and other spooky surprises. Admission is $25 per person (must be 21).

Next Friday and Saturday, the festival’s featured foodie event is the Seasons Market Seafood Roadshow from 1 to 7 p.m. Special pricing — and cut-to-order where applicable — will be available for fresh salmon, king crab, scallops, halibut, oysters and small and large lobsters. Free wine sampling will be offered too. For kids, there will be free pony rides and a petting zoo on Nov. 5.

In addition to the Fall Festival, today attendees can tour the new Lake Las Vegas Sports Club on Lake Las Vegas Parkway from noon to 5 p.m. The private fitness club is for residents of the master plan. Amenities promote health and wellness, outdoor activity and leisure recreation with a state-of-the-art-fitness center, four tennis courts, pickle ball, teen area, resort and children’s pools, air-conditioned cabanas, outdoor gathering spaces overlooking acres of green grass, and a movement studio with Las Vegas Strip views.

New homeownership opportunities are now selling in six contemporary neighborhoods by acclaimed homebuilders William Lyon Homes, CalAtlantic Homes, Century Communities and Toll Brothers. The new collections feature gated privacy, single-level and two-story designs and view locations.

The Lake Las Vegas master planned residential, golf and resort community is in Henderson near the Galleria Parkway and Interstate 515/U.S. Highway 95 or off Lake Mead Parkway and Lake Las Vegas Parkway. Free parking will be available at the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort &Spa parking garage adjacent to MonteLago Village.
