Joe Nichols Headlines Country in the Park at Mountain’s Edge

Outdoor country fun is back at the Mountain’s Edge with the return of Country in the Park. The free concert and festival is scheduled May 7 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the community’s Exploration Park, and is presented by Mountain’s Edge and Las Vegas’ new country leader 95.5 The Bull.

Country music favorite Joe Nichols headlines the event, and rising star Brett Young also will perform. Local country rock band Thrillbilly Deluxe returns to kick off the event.

Festivities include a beer garden, food vendors, booths and exhibits. Picnic baskets, chairs, blankets and well-behaved leashed pets are welcome. Alcohol, coolers and glass are not allowed in the park.

Nichols brings 13 years of country music chart success to the festival. He has 14 Top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts, including No. 1 singles “Brokenheartsville,” “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off,” “Gimmie That Girl” and “Sunny and 75.” Nichols released his latest single titled “Freaks Like Me” in anticipation of his next album.

Rolling Stones already has taken notice of California native Brett Young, naming him as one of its “Artists You Need to Know.” The former college baseball pitcher creates music with soulful vocals and heartfelt lyrics derived from a myriad of personal experience. Previously released recordings have gathered a cult following and placement on television shows including “Chrisley Knows Best” (USA), “Real World” (MTV) and “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” (E!). Young released an EP titled Brett Young in February.

In addition to the concert, festival attendees are invited to tour Mountain’s Edge and its many neighborhoods. Well-appointed floor plans include versatile offerings from CalAtlantic Homes, Century Communities, KB Home, Lennar, Pulte Homes, Richmond American Homes and Ryland Homes.

Located in southwest Las Vegas, Mountain’s Edge celebrates the rich history and natural beauty of the area. Developed by Focus Property Group, it consistently has ranked among the country’s best-selling master-planned communities by leading independent real estate advisory firms.

Mountain’s Edge is recognized for close proximity to the Red Rock National Conservation Area, major employment and Las Vegas Strip entertainment offerings; a wealth of floor plans and single and multi-family subdivisions from top builders; parks, trails and open spaces; and public facilities and schools. A series of paseos wind through the community, connecting residents and their neighborhoods to recreation areas. These include the 20-acre Nathaniel Jones Park, first phase of the Mountain’s Edge Regional Park, and 80-acre Exploration Park with a Western Theme Village, water play area, picnic areas, amphitheater, playgrounds and the 2,846-foot-tall Exploration Peak.

Mountain’s Edge is at 9725 S. Buffalo Drive (corner of Buffalo and Blue Diamond Road). Exploration Park is south of the main community entrance. For information, call 702-898-5777 or visit www.mountainsedge.com.
