Independence Day Celebration at Lake Las Vegas Sunday

Celebrate America’s Independence Day a day early amid the unique lakeside setting of Lake Las Vegas.

Two simultaneous fireworks shows, the Henderson Symphony Orchestra and a DJ and a band during the day will be featured Sunday at the master-planned residential and resort community surrounding a 320-acre lake. There will be activities throughout the day at the free event, culminating with fireworks that coincide with the end of the symphony performance at 9 p.m. Times may change.

The Henderson Symphony will begin at 8 p.m. on a floating stage adjacent to the Lake Las Vegas Marina in MonteLago Village. The orchestra will play classic favorites and patriotic songs to accompany the fireworks.

Fireworks can be seen from the MonteLago Village and the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa. Pyrotecnico, one of the country’s leading creative fireworks display, pyrotechnics and special effects companies, returns to design the shows in conjunction with the music.

“We love creating firework shows at the one-of-a-kind waterside venues Lake Las Vegas offers, where we can take advantage of the bursts’ reflections off the lake and paint the sky as our canvas,” said Phillip Stewart of Pyrotecnico. “Both shows will incorporate traditional firework favorites, such as peonies and chrysanthemums, and also some new creations, specifically for this event.”

A DJ will entertain from 3 to 4 p.m., and a band will perform from 4 to 7 p.m. Dining options can be found in the MonteLago Village, new Seasons Market, Reflection Bay Clubhouse, Hilton Lake Las Vegas and Westin Las Lake Vegas.

“We look forward to seeing those who have joined us before and welcoming new attendees to this fun and patriotic event celebrating the country’s birthday,” said Cody Winterton of Lake Las Vegas.

The July 3 Independence Day event is part of Lake Las Vegas’ “Summer of Celebration.” It includes the opening of the new Seasons Market in MonteLago Village and the openings of several new-home communities with a grand opening event July 16 and a new private fitness club.

Lake Las Vegas is located east off the Galleria Parkway Exit and Interstate 515/U.S. Highway 93/U.S. Highway 95. For directions, visit www.lakelasvegas.com.
