Ice Cream Sunday to be held Sept. 27 in Huckleberry Park

The Sunny 106.5 Ice Cream Sunday is back this year with a special celebration for the new Huckleberry Park in the Providence master-planned community Sept. 27. It will be held in conjunction with the grand opening of the park, marking a new home for the annual free event.

The celebratory ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. and will include a special dedication to the fallen police officer and Providence resident Igor Soldo. The family-friendly festival will continue until 2 p.m. with free frozen treats from Meadow Gold and a variety of activities such as bounce houses, a petting zoo, ice cream-eating contests and booths.

With a name inspired by the classic Mark Twain character Huckleberry Finn, Huckleberry Park embraces the small town Americana ambiance throughout Providence. It is the third park in the fast-selling master plan, and its design and variety of amenities make it an ideal home for Ice Cream Sunday and a great venue for community and resident events. There are large and small dog parks, a multiuse events field, full court basketball, outdoor stage area, swings, picnic area, shade ramada and other spaces designated for future amenities.

In keeping with master plan developer Focus Property Group and Providence’s tradition of giving back to the community, attendees are invited to bring new and gently used books for Spread the Word Nevada, a nonprofit organization that promotes literacy to make it possible for all children in Nevada to experience the magic of books.

The event is presented by the Providence Master Planned Community, Providence Master Homeowners Association, Sunny 106.5, and Meadow Gold.

Huckleberry Park is at 10325 Farm Road, north of the I-215 North Beltway and Hualapai Way exit. For more information about Ice Cream Sunday and the park grand opening, call 702-216-2020 or visit www.providencelv.com.

Developed by Focus Property Group, Providence is among the fastest-selling master-planned communities in the country, according to rankings by leading real estate and industry research and advisory firms. Its spirit is rooted in the traditions of small town America where neighborhoods bring people together in common goals and common interests. Wide tree-lined boulevards frame the community, which will house 7,500 single and multifamily units. Builders, including Lennar, Richmond American Homes, Ryland Homes, Summit Homes and Woodside offer a variety of floor plans and amenity options. In addition to the new Huckleberry Park, the master plan features The Promenade and Knickerbocker parks with views of the entire Las Vegas Valley and miles of trail systems.

Providence is in northwest Las Vegas at 7181 N. Hualapai Way, Suite No. 150. For information, visit www.providencelv.com or the information center or call 702-433-5084.
