Henderson’s Inspirada holds street fair

Thousands of cyclists, walkers and strollers flocked to Inspirada last weekend to experience Henderson’s car-free street fair known as Stroll ‘n Roll. This is the first year the popular annual event was held at Inspirada.

The event, which featured live entertainment, interactive stations and local and national health and fitness vendors, took place at Inspirada’s new Aventura, Potenza and Capriola Parks. Festival highlights included the winning displays from the Rockin’ Art of Sloan Canyon contest.

Inspirada, a Henderson master-planned community, is a five-minute drive from Interstate 15, off St. Rose Parkway. It has new neighborhoods, homes, amenities and a new cafe.

Inspirada parks sit adjacent to new neighborhoods and offer volleyball courts, amphitheaters and ball fields. Three of the parks offer resident-only heated play and lap pools. Henderson’s system of parks has been recognized as the best in the nation, earning the 2014 Gold Medal Award from the National Recreation and Park Association. Organized sports clubs have already discovered Inspirada. Sporting organization manager Oscar Cisneros chose Inspirada for his club’s soccer practices and games. Cisneros is the creator of Durango Soccer League, a nonprofit league for youths 3 to 10 years old.

“There were several parks in Henderson we were considering for our organization,” Cisneros said. “However, when I toured the parks within Inspirada, I knew these were the parks that I wanted affiliated with Durango Soccer League. We were greeted with such a warm welcome by Inspirada’s staff and residents, I’m so grateful that Inspirada gave us the opportunity to become part of their family.”

Other clubs that play at Inspirada include National Youth Sports, one of the largest leagues in Nevada with more than 14,000 kids.

Aside from the excitement of community events, you can always find Inspirada residents walking with their dogs, pushing their toddlers in strollers and riding their bicycles. Families enjoy the convenience of multiple trails, connected neighborhoods and new infrastructure, such as separated sidewalks, benches and seating and shaded areas. Inspirada is also the gateway to Sloan Canyon National Recreation Area that includes hiking trails for every level of hiker and more than 1,700 petroglyphs.

Inspirada was developed by Inspirada Builders LLC, a partnership of four prominent homebuilders, including Beazer Homes, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Toll Brothers.

Surrounding the parks are 24 model homes in 12 new Inspirada neighborhoods featuring one-, two- and three-story single-family homes. Inspirada is home to more than 2,500 residents who have access to programs and activities managed by a full-time staff who create social calendars to bring neighbors together in the parks and the Inspirada Community Center.
