Free Ice Cream Sunday at Providence

Cool down in a fun way as the summer comes to an end. The annual Sunny 106.5 Ice Cream Sunday returns with free ice cream and activities for family and friends to enjoy Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Huckleberry Park in the Providence.

The festivities will be filled with free frozen treats provided by Meadow Gold and activities, including ice cream-eating contests, face-painting, petting zoo, a DJ and entertainment by Amazing Clowns. Food trucks, featuring Ben’s BBQ, Blondie’s Beacon Creations and Burgerfest, will have food available to purchase.

Attendees are invited to bring new or gently used books for Spread the Word Nevada. The nonprofit organization promotes literacy in Nevada.

Huckleberry Park, named after the classic Mark Twain character “Huckleberry Finn,” has large and small dog parks, a multiuse events field, full court basketball, outdoor stage area, swings, picnic area, shade ramada and other spaces designated for future amenities. Well-behaved leashed pets are welcome at the event.

After the event attendees are can tour the master-planned community developed by Focus Property Group. Providence has been among the country’s fastest-selling master planned communities. Its spirit is rooted in the traditions of small-town America with neighborhoods bringing people together.

Wide tree-lined boulevards frame the 1,200-acre community which features top builders, including CalAtlantic Homes/Ryland, Lennar, Richmond American Homes, Summit Homes and Woodside, offering a variety of floor plans and amenity options for every lifestyle.

The master plan features The Promenade Park, Huckleberry Park and Knickerbocker Park, the latter with spectacular views of the entire Las Vegas Valley, and miles of trail systems.

The Sunny 106.5 Ice Cream Sunday is being presented by Sunny 106.5, Meadow Gold, Providence Master Planned Community and Providence Master Homeowners Association.

Huckleberry Park is at 10325 Farm Road, just off the I-215 North Beltway and Hualapai Way.
