Couple makes home at One Las Vegas

Leon and Mary Ann Jones are New York natives, but they couldn’t be happier to call themselves Nevada residents. The couple recently locked in their dream home at One Las Vegas, the twin 20-story condominium towers on the south end of Las Vegas Boulevard.

When they began discussing their golden years, the Joneses agreed the harsh winters and cost of living in New York wasn’t the most appealing option for them and their two four-legged companions, Molly and Pebble.

“I am a retired registered nurse and have traveled to nearly every major city in the county for work and for pleasure, but none could compare to Las Vegas,” Mary Ann Jones said. “The affordable cost of living, beautiful weather, along with the wide selection of entertainment, dining and shopping made this city the perfect next step for our lifestyle. We began renting a beautiful, corner residence at One Las Vegas in 2013 and recently purchased it. Somehow, we always knew it was our forever home.”

The Joneses enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and the Strip from their corner, two-bedroom home. Resident amenities at One Las Vegas include a luxury pool, fitness center, movie theater, tennis court and more. One Las Vegas’ amenity package is one of the most robust compared with other high-rise communities.

The couple credit much of their happiness to the lifestyle created by these amenities with the customer service they receive from the team at One Las Vegas.

“I don’t even know where the nearest dry cleaner is located because we don’t have to worry about things like that since the concierge team handles that for us,” Mary Ann Jones said. “No matter the time or day, the staff here always greets us with a warm welcome and smiling faces, and it really makes a positive difference in our sense of belonging at One Las Vegas.”

The couple especially appreciates Splash, the community’s resort-inspired pool; Transform, the state-of-the-art, two-story fitness center; and Show, a movie theater with oversized reclining seats. They also value One Las Vegas’ guard-gated security and maintenance-free lifestyle that gives them more time to travel and pursue other adventures.

“I’m a retired veteran and enjoy visiting Nellis Air Force Base that is easily accessible and only a 20-minute drive from home,” Leon Jones said. “Everything we need is truly at our fingertips. And while our family is back East, we can now invite them to stay with us for extended vacations and can’t wait to show off our new life at One Las Vegas.”

Homes at One Las Vegas range from 831 to 2,857 square feet with many floor plans offering spectacular views of both the mountains and the Strip.

One-bedroom homes are priced from the low $200,000s; two-bedroom homes from the high $200,000s; and three-bedroom homes from the low $400,000s. The penthouse, offering 3,000 square feet of sweeping views, is priced at $1.1 million.

One Las Vegas is also Veterans Affairs home loan approved and offers 15- and 30-year fixed mortgages and 10 percent down mortgages.

One Las Vegas is close to I-15 and the 215 Beltway and just minutes from McCarran International Airport. Town Square, a few blocks north of the property, provides one-stop shopping and scores of dining and entertainment options right in the neighborhood.
