‘New Girl’ bus rolls into town with videos, souvenirs, games

Not everybody can appreciate the charms of Zooey Deschanel.

Some people are just dead inside.

But even if you’re not a fan of her quirky Fox comedy, “New Girl,” there’s one thing everyone can agree on: Free stuff is awesome.

That’s where the “New Girl” True American Bus Tour comes in.

The nationwide fan event to commemorate the show’s first season – which garnered Emmy nominations for Deschanel and her co-star Max Greenfield for his breakout role as Schmidt – rolls into Las Vegas this weekend.

And, in a celebration of all things “New Girl,” you can pick up souvenirs ranging from T-shirts to a pair of glasses like the ones worn by Deschanel’s Jess.

The tour is centered around the school bus/party bus Jess borrowed for Schmidt’s birthday.

Its name comes from the show’s mysterious drinking game, True American, with its near-perfect blend of presidential trivia and lava.

Other tour highlights include exclusive videos, photo ops, games and cupcakes.

Catch the tour Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at McMullan’s Irish Pub, 4650 W. Tropicana Ave., and 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Three Angry Wives, 8820 W. Charleston Blvd.

On Sunday, the bus will stop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Murphy’s Law, 1590 E. Flamingo Road, and 3 to 5 p.m. at Stage Door, 4000 Audrie St.
