99 Words About … TV’s latest odd-couple crime solvers

Remember when TV law enforcers solved crimes with, you know, other TV law enforcers?

These days, it seems they’re all paired with a mystery novelist, medical examiner, mentalist or whatever Emily Deschanel is on “Bones.”

“Perception” (10 p.m. Monday, TNT), the latest in this replace-a-cop genre, teams an FBI agent (Rachael Leigh Cook) with a neuroscience professor (Eric McCormack) who’s also – surprise! – a paranoid schizophrenic.

He’s a tangled mess of tics and eccentricities, some of which feel less forced than others.

But perception is all about what you see.

Even if, like “Perception,” you’ve seen most of it before.
