99 Words About … The soapy genius of ABC’s ‘Revenge’

It’s basically “Real Housewives” with guns. And better writers.

“Revenge” (10 p.m. Wednesdays, KTNV-TV, Channel 13) follows the world’s most vindictive 20-something (Emily VanCamp) as she infiltrates Hamptons high society and — one by one, like the dark flipside of “My Name Is Earl” — destroys the fabulously wealthy people who framed her father and sent him to prison to die.

Bitchiness. Duplicity. Money-is-no-object machinations that make Rube Goldberg seem lacking in forethought.

And Madeleine Stowe makes for a more terrifying witch than anything on “Once Upon a Time.”

It’s fall’s guiltiest pleasure, a few “Dynasty”-style catfights away from trashy perfection.
