99 Words About … The grim humor of FX’s ‘Legit’

If it were any darker, it would just be voice-overs against a black screen.

In “Legit” (10:30 p.m. today, FX), foul-mouthed Aussie comic Jim Jefferies plays foul-mouthed Aussie comic Jim Jefferies.

Trying to be a better man, Jefferies takes his friend’s brother, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, to what the press notes call “a whorehouse in Las Vegas.”

It’s a raunchy, uncomfortable, ultimately touching episode that plays out like a more-hilarious, less-naked take on “The Sessions.”

So what if “Legit’s” depiction of Vegas, one of Hollywood’s worst ever, looks more like one of Boyd Crowder’s side businesses on “Justified”?
