99 Words About … The final return of ‘Breaking Bad’
August 7, 2013 - 2:52 pm
Given all the jaw-dropping moments that have come before it, this episode easily could have kicked off with a Boyz II Men-backed montage of Walt and Jesse’s greatest hits.
Maybe even some slow-motion smiles and glances over their beakers and burners.
It obviously doesn’t.
But that doesn’t mean the opening of the first of the final eight installments of “Breaking Bad” (9 p.m. Sunday, AMC) is any less surprising.
The closing scene? Off-the-charts intense.
It’s a fitting, pulse-pounding beginning to the end of one of TV’s all-time most stunning, visually arresting series.
Being bad likely will never again look this good.
