99 Words About … The craziness of ‘American Horror Story’

It makes sense that, for its second season, TV’s most insane drama has moved to a loony bin.

Thankfully, that’s the only thing about "American Horror Story: Asylum" (10 p.m. Wednesdays, FX) that makes sense.

Alien abductions. Sexual deviants. A demon-possessed nun. A serial killer known as Bloody Face. Forced sterilization. Grotesque attempts to "cure" a lesbian. A Nazi war criminal prone to kinky sex, unnecessary amputations and gruesome medical experiments. And a deliciously over-the-top Jessica Lange.

"Asylum" doesn’t just cross the boundaries of normalcy, it back flips over them, thumbing its nose and flinging poo as it goes.
