99 Words About: Catching up on ABC’s ‘Scandal’

The pope’s dating the president? A Mark Twain character’s murdering people?

Admittedly, you haven’t been paying attention whenever your wife/girlfriend chatters on about “Scandal” (10 p.m. Thursday, KTNV-TV, Channel 13), and now you’re wondering what the fuss is about.

You could marathon all 29 episodes and know everything about the first two seasons.

But, let’s be realistic. “Scandal” doesn’t exactly have the can’t-miss-a-minute density of “The Wire” or “Breaking Bad.”

Thankfully, there’s the hourlong recap “Scandal: The Secret Is Out” (8 p.m. Thursday, Channel 13).

The only trade-off? Kerry Washington really is worth staring at for a full day.
