Garcia y Reyna play Charleston Heights

Classically trained guitarists Jeremy S. Garcia and Rosendo Reyna III will mix pop, Latin and contemporary music with traditional flamenco for an afternoon of nuevo flamenco music at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St.

Garcia earned degrees in classical guitar performance from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He directs the guitar program at San Jacinto College South, teaches master classes for young musicians, and maintains a busy performance schedule.

Reyna holds master’s degrees in classical guitar performance and music education from Southern Methodist University. He serves as music director/composer for the Quetzal Theater Group and as score engraver for the Orchestra of New Spain.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
