Musical Arts Singers to perform Sunday

The Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society will open its 45th season with a concert of “American Music” by the Musical Arts Singers.

The concert is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday in the Doc Rando Recital Hall in the Beam Music Center at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.

The singers will perform a variety of American folk songs, gospel hymns and spiritual and party songs.

Patti Battani and Robert Peterson will be the featured soloists. The Musical Arts Singers will be accompanied by Nancy Porter.

The program also will highlight the songs of Broadway composer Harold Arlen.

Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and members of the military, and $5 for students with ID.
