Tim Allen standing up at The Venetian

Tim Allen started doing Las Vegas stand-up again when he didn’t have a sitcom, but it seems to be a habit now.

Allen’s “Last Man Standing” ran a full season on ABC, and, as of last week, stood a strong chance of being renewed for next fall.

When the actor-comedian started working Las Vegas again two years ago, he noted, “The money isn’t the primary reason.

“I want to go in and be live again and resurrect that feeling again. It’s kind of a selfish thing, I guess.”

Allen had many weekends at The Venetian since then to resurrect that feeling and to work out new material.

The stand-up he did in his early, anonymous club days is the act “I sold to ABC and that became ‘Home Improvement.’ It seems like I’m doing oldies but goodies when I start doing a little of the old material,” he noted.

It also took some time for audiences to get the word that he isn’t working for Disney when he’s on the Strip, even if he did narrate the new “Chimpanzee” documentary.

“If you’re bringing an 8-year-old to a comedy show, you gotta be mindful I’m gonna drop the F-bomb,” he cautioned.
