Strip Tips: Venues offering discounts to CES attendees

Sometimes, it pays to be a Vegas geek. PBR Rock Bar inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort will offer geeks a 10 percent discount on their dining bill Tuesday through Jan. 11. The catch: You must be a Consumer Electronics Show attendee to qualify. Just show your CES convention badge to your server and you will once again prove you’re smarter than everybody else. PBR is open daily from 8 a.m. until the wee hours of the morning. For more information, call 702-750-1685.

Another deal

Senor Frog’s at Treasure Island is one of several venues on the Strip that will be offering deals to CES attendees. From Tuesday through Jan. 11, get a flight of premium Ambhar tequila for $30. Regular price for the three tastings costs $40. The pours include Ambhar Platinum, Reposado and Anejo. Just flash your CES badge to get the discount. Senor Frog’s is open daily from 11 a.m. until the last person leaves. For more information, call 702-894-7777.

‘Poetry of Time’

Check out “The Poetry of Time” exhibit at Crystals in CityCenter. Through Saturday, five timepieces from Van Cleef & Arpels will be on display to the public. The exhibit is meant to show the poetry of watchmaking. The watches, each with their own name, such as “De la Terre a la Lune,” were inspired by the Earth, moon, love and the sea. Located on the second floor of Crystals, the exhibit is free. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.

Hagar live

Sammy Hagar fans are in for a treat Jan. 12 when the Red Rocker himself hosts the anniversary celebration of his Cabo Wabo Cantina in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort. Cabo Wabo’s house band Cabo UNO, kicks off the third annual bash Jan. 10. They will perform nightly at the restaurant until Jan. 12, when Hagar will join the band for a live set.

Tickets are free and will be distributed on the day of the concert on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information, call 702-385-2226.
