Strip Tips: Patties, parties and pups

This week on the Strip, there’s a new option for date night, complete with Champagne and strawberries. If that doesn’t fill you up, a juicy burger probably will. Top it all off with a little birthday cake and you have a weekend on the Strip. You can even bring your dog.

Fluffy Menu

BLT Burger at The Mirage is encouraging diners to embrace their inner fat person (or outer fat person) by offering a special menu. Through April 8, the restaurant will serve up the Fluffy Menu featuring burgers and a shake inspired by comedian Gabriel Iglesias’ “six levels of fatness” routine. Iglesias, who performs at the hotel through Saturday, built the burger, which is topped with jalapeño jack cheese, mayonnaise, a fried egg, tobacco onions and BLT sauce. Each “burger level” has either bacon or extra patties added to it. Diners can order a “Husky” burger and a “Fluffy” burger, among others. A “Fluffy Cake Shake” is also available. Call 792-7888 for information.

Date with Dolls

Date night will never be the same, thanks to the Pussycat Dolls. For $200, couples can go on a “Pussycat Date” in the Pussycat Dolls Burlesque Saloon at Planet Hollywood Resort. The package includes admission, a VIP table with a bottle of Moet & Chandon Champagne for sipping and strawberries for snacking. If you get your fill of the burlesque show, head next door to Gallery nightclub; admission to the club is included in the package. The saloon is open 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Call 818-5700 for reservations.

Pet package

Forgive the pun but the Riviera has gone to the dogs. Guests can bring their canine companions with them when they stay at the hotel. The Riviera joins the Four Seasons, Caesars Palace and Imperial Palace as dog-friendly Strip hotels. Dog-guests must weigh less than 50 pounds and be present at check-in. They’ll get a plastic mat, water and food dishes and dog treats as part of the package. For more information, call 794-9433.

Porn party

If you’ve always wanted to party with a porn star, Saturday’s your chance. Jenna Jameson — nonporn fans may know her from the comedy “Zombie Strippers” — will celebrate her birthday at Tabu in MGM Grand. She will be 38. Happy birthday, Jenna. Doors open at 10 p.m. Call 891-7183.

Question

Where can we see an Elvis impersonator on the Strip?

You can hang out around the intersection at Flamingo Road and Las Vegas Boulevard and you’re sure to spot someone dressed as Elvis. A couple of street performers wearing white jumpsuits are usually in that area, posing for photos with tourists. But if you want to see an Elvis tribute show, there are few options left, at least on the Strip. Pete Vallee, aka Big Elvis, is probably your best. Vallee’s nickname refers to his size; at one time, he weighed more than 1,000 pounds. He’s since lost a few hundred pounds but he’s no less entertaining. He’s got the jumpsuits, the sideburns, the voice. Vallee performs a free, one-hour show at 3, 5 and 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon.
