Strip Tips: Jewelry from Titanic on display at Luxor

Jewelry recovered from the Titanic is on display at the Luxor.

The jewelry, 15 pieces made of diamonds, sapphires, pearls and gold, belonged to passengers of the ill-fated ship and was recovered 75 years after it sank. The items were found in an unmarked leather Gladstone bag in the wreckage on the ocean floor.

The jewelry will be on display in “Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition” at Luxor through May 31. For more information, call 404-842-2600 or visit rmstitanic.net. Admission is $29 for locals, $32 for nonlocals. Children and seniors receive a discount.

Comedy competition

Comedians will compete for the chance to headline their own shows at 10 p.m. Saturday at the Riviera.

A few weeks ago, the casino put out a call for amateur and professional comics to submit an audition video. Those videos were screened and several were selected to compete for a one-week headlining gig at the Riviera Comedy Club.

Four comedians will compete Saturday for the chance to be the one to make it to the finale April 20. To see the video submissions, check out the Riviera’s Facebook page at facebook.com/rivieralasvegas.

The performance is free and open to the public. For more information, visit rivierahotel.com.

Autograph signing

Mike Tyson will sign autographs and pose for pictures with fans from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at TRISTAR Sport Memorabilia in Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort.

For $299, you can get a pair of embroidered boxing trunks signed or buy an 8-by-10 photo for $179. Other fees may apply.

Pro wrestler and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle will host a meet and greet from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday. Fees apply to his visit, too. Fans can buy a six-pack of cards for $32 and get Angle’s autograph. For more information, call 702-534-1650.
