Strip Tips: Cellphone drive, happy hour, open bar

Where can you lounge by a swimming pool, sipping cocktails and tanning all day, while simultaneously supporting American troops? Why, at a Strip dayclub, of course!

The Light Group’s Bare Pool, at The Mirage, is rounding up cellphones for soldiers at 11 a.m. Monday. Guests can bring their used cellphones to hand over at the door. There are no discounts being offered for this cellphone drive; you just get to hang out at one of the hottest dayclubs in Vegas and feel like you’re helping a worthy cause.

Make sure to delete all personal data from the phones, first. Proceeds from the sale of the donated phones will be used to purchase phone cards for military members serving overseas, as well as toward emergency veteran services in the States.

Happy hour

Red Square in Mandalay Bay offers a happy hour menu from 4 to 6 p.m. Sundays through Fridays.

Some appetizers, such as smoked salmon pizza, kobe beef sliders, oysters, duck fat fries and Siberian nachos, will be specially priced at $4. Domestic beers are $4; wine and some cocktails are $6. For more information, call 702-693-8300.

Open bar

While Electric Daisy Carnival fans are partying across town, head over to Rockhouse, the dive bar located in the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian.

From June 21-23, the ultra-dive bar will offer all-day access to an open bar for $25. Drink your body weight in well cocktails and Pabst Blue Ribbon. And to soak up all that alcohol, the bar is also offering two-for-one tacos.
