Meet Allie Meixner

“Rock of Ages”

Hometown: Murrysville, Pa.

Age: 26

Moved to New York City at 17 and, in her first audition, landed the role of “Girl in the Yellow Dress” in the national tour of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Contact.” … Started taking ballet lessons at 3. … Supported in her theatrical ambitions by her parents and has fond memories of taking road trips with her dad to see Broadway shows. … Was a backup dancer for both Beyonce and Toni Braxton, and has danced in music videos and on the “MTV Video Music Awards” and VH1’s “Fashion Rocks” shows. … First came to Las Vegas to perform as the original Lady Cross in “Peepshow.” … Is a fan of oldies and classic rock. … Dream roles include dancing in Bob Fosse’s “Chicago” and Twyla Tharp’s “Movin’ Out.”

“I think performing with an artist is always amazing, because you’re performing for a crowd – like, with Toni Braxton, 50,000 people. But musical theater has always been in my heart because you get to sing and dance and act. You play characters. On tour with someone, it’s about the artist, and you’re just kind of an accessory. But I wouldn’t take that opportunity back – ever – because, for a dancer, who wouldn’t want to dance with Beyonce?”
