Sam’s Town gives holidays a Western spin

Cowboy Santa lends a Western flair to Sam’s Town’s celebration of the holidays.

Santa, decked out in cowboy gear, visits with guests from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and noon to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Photos, priced from $11 to $17, are available for purchase.

Festivities at the hotel, 5111 Boulder Highway, center on the newly renovated pioneer-themed Mystic Falls Park Light and Water Show, which transforms the park into a winter wonderland.

Garlands, lampposts adorned with wreaths and light- and snow-covered trees fill the atrium, while Santa’s workshop takes up residence in the park’s gazebo. An ice sculpture rests in the main fountain. Lighted polar bears and a holiday light show, complete with indoor snow, create a whimsical experience. The free 15-minute laser light show takes place daily at 6 , 8 and 10 p.m.
