Parrotheads prepare to party

Jimmy Buffett sings Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden arena, so you should expect Parrotheads to drink on the Strip all weekend, especially from Margaritaville down to Paris Las Vegas.

Last Friday, hundreds of Parrotheads cheered Buffett while his new Margaritaville casino broke a Guinness world record: the largest margarita ever made by hand.

It’s a two-story-tall vat holding 8,500 gallons: 2,125 gallons of tequila, 708 gallons of triple sec, 5,667 gallons of mix and 22,267 limes. Passers-by drink cups from it.

That "Lucky Rita" is there through Sunday.

Anyway, this weekend, look forward to a repeat of last weekend: Parrotheads partying, wasted, wasted, wasted.

ELECTRA DOES A STRIP CLUB

Some celebrities go to Las Vegas strip clubs under the radar. But Carmen Electra will proudly walk a midnight red carpet today for Crazy Horse III’s two-year anniversary.

Before she gets there, all customers drink free from 9 to 11 p.m.

The Playmate, Pussycat Doll and one-time Prince protege tells me strip clubs have become normalized across America.

"Vegas is a little more forward" with strip clubs, she says. "But in general, people (in other cities) have really opened up to the idea and don’t see it as a bad thing."

Even though Electra is an especially sexualized sex symbol, she’s embraced by many women. She thinks that’s because "I’m not a hater."

"I really appreciate beautiful women. I’ll be the first person to compliment a woman."

THE WINTER DAYCLUBS

Dayclubs are winding down for winter because they’re at outdoor pools. But some nightclubs are adding dayclubs to their locations.

Last Saturday, Lavo at the Palazzo launched Champagne Brunch, featuring many beautiful women I will call "ringers." Lavo resumes that event at 2 p.m. Saturday.

At 1 p.m. Saturday, the Palms’ ghostbar lounge-nightclub launches its weekly dayclub. Women get in free. Men pay $25. I’ll see you there.

Speaking of dayclubs, the potential smashed-show may be "Drink Bare Dry" on Monday at Mirage’s Bare pool, where tourists and locals indeed go topless.

Flash a local ID there Monday, and you get into Bare free and drink free at an open bar all day. I will see you there, as well.

This is Bare’s season-ending party, although it will stay open until Oct. 29.

Elsewhere at nightclubs, Kim Kardashian celebrates a birthday, and Drake, Ne-Yo and Steve Aoki perform. See details for club stars and DJs on my blog.
