Marty Allen fills in for Louie Anderson

He’s been saying "Hello ‘dere" for most of his 89 years, and he’s on his way to becoming the George Burns of Las Vegas.

Longtime Las Vegas resident Marty Allen will fill in for Louie Anderson at Palace Station Tuesday through Saturday.

It’s a stretch on dry land for the wild-eyed, crazy-haired comedian of Allen & Rossi fame.

"We’ve been everywhere" on the cruise ships, he says of his wife and stage partner, Karon Kate Blackwell. "They were looking for good acts, and Karon and I got lucky. We’re clean, we’re funny, and they always put us on the night the captain has his cocktail party."

And if you think the act never changes, Allen has two words for you about his new character: "Daddy Gaga."

Allen and Blackwell perform at 8:30 p.m. at Palace Station, 2411 W. Sahara Ave. Tickets are $56, with a $15 locals discount. Call 547-5300.
