Concert to benefit families affected by Newtown shootings

Las Vegas performers seldom seen on the same stage combine forces Sunday at Boulder Station for a benefit that raises money for families affected by the Newton, Conn., shootings.

“Our Town for Newtown – A Concert for Sandy Hook Elementary School” is hosted by Brody Dolyniuk, known to locals as the longtime frontman for Yellow Brick Road, and of late the Symphonic Rock Show.

The talent bill includes Yellow Brick Road as well as The Fab, the Lon Bronson All-Star Band, Rick Duarte of Strung Out Sessions, Quiet Riot alumnus Paul Shortino, Bella Electric Strings, Zowie Bowie, Elisa Furr of “iCandy Burlesque,” The Las Vegas Tenors, Lorena Peril of “Fantasy,” Michelle Johnson of The Platters, rocker Brent Muscat and Michael Cavanaugh from Broadway’s Billy Joel-themed “Movin’ Out.”

Admission for the 8 p.m. Sunday show is a minimum $10 and will be channeled to an existing United Way account through The (Greg and Kathy) Maddux Foundation.
