Bill Cosby still performing new material

How long has Bill Cosby’s name been in lights on the Strip?
Since he had to share marquee space with Trini Lopez in 1963.

“People still put that big water bag on the front of the car to protect the radiator,” the comedian recalled in 2009, when he started working at Treasure Island.

Back then, “gaming” was called “gambling.” A pit boss told him, “You keep drawing ’em in, and we’ll keep robbing ’em.”

Now the 75-year-old comedy legend has made the “Mystere” theater a regular stop a couple of times each year.

“Your mind will still be working at 60, or whatever (age). What are you going to do with those thoughts?” he explained of still coming up with new material and the need to perform it.

“My joke of course is, ‘I go out on the road because nobody would listen to me in my house.’ So I pick out 6,000 of my closest friends and sit down and talk.”
