Be prepared for spontaneity with Tom Green, Steve-O

These words of wisdom are only surprising because it’s Tom Green saying them:

“I think people have to be aware they’re playing with fire a little bit when you’re putting all your personal information online.

“Before it was just me putting my stuff up online and having to deal with it,” says the pioneering video prankster, who once put a cow’s head in his parents’ bed as a “Godfather” homage.

“Our privacy is violated, and everyone is aware of what everyone is doing. What is the bigger implication of it?” he wonders. “I talk about how we should all cancel our Facebook pages in the show. Everybody cheers, but I’m sure nobody goes and does it.”

At 41, Green is more thoughtful and soft-spoken on the phone than those who know him for MTV’s “The Tom Green Show” may expect.

He says stand-up was a natural evolution for him, a vehicle that allows him to “rant about things I find ridiculous about the world we’re living in,” and sometimes “make an actual point.”

“We did that in the show too, but the visual side of things was so outrageous,” he adds.

Steve-O (Stephen Glover) has traveled a similar path since his stunt-oriented “Jackass” heyday. Now the two find themselves sharing the stage for what they hope will be the first of many Las Vegas weekends at the Riviera.

“We’re going to be onstage together at several points in the show,” Green says of his friend. “I don’t even know what’s going to end up happening. There’s a lot of spontaneity when Steve-O and I get together.”
