Dinner shows set for belly dancing festival
Three dinner shows are scheduled next week in conjunction with the International Belly Dancing convention in the grand ballroom at the South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The internationally flavored “Legends, a Tribal Event” is set for Tuesday, the Egyptian “Layla and the Lotus Dancers” will be on Wednesday and the Asian “Mystic Dreams, a Night of Oriental Dance” will take place Thursday, all at 8 p.m., for $63 and $75 per person. Violet Grgich of Grgich Hills Wine Cellar will speak during the Women of Spirit wine dinner at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at Morton’s the Steakhouse, 400 E. Flamingo Road. The four-course dinner (with an entree of filet mignon) and reception is $150 per person. The evening is part of a nationwide program by Morton’s and the American Red Cross to recognize “women of spirit”; the local winner will be announced that evening.
