Playboy bunnies to host ‘After Dark’ party

Sundays have gotten a little more exciting as another nightlife venue has brought a special party to the Las Vegas scene.

Playboy Club at the Palms joins the Sunday lineup, which already features the weekly "Moonshine" party at Tangerine inside Treasure Island and the "Sunday School" event at Body English inside the Hard Rock Hotel.

This Sunday, the weekly "After Dark" party will be hosted by the Playboy Club bunnies as they celebrate their appearances in the November issue of Playboy.

Playboy Club follows that up with the Oct. 21 one-year anniversary party. The event, scheduled to be hosted by 10 Playboy Playmates, will feature a live lingerie photo shoot.

Hiltons take cake on Nicky’s night — Paris and Nicky Hilton’s trip to Las Vegas last week highlighted another busy weekend on the nightclub scene.

The socialite-billionaire heiresses made LAX nightclub their own party playground Oct. 5 as Nicky celebrated her 24th birthday with a group of 40-plus people. Her parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, made the trip from California to partake in the festivities.

The group, joined by "Beacher’s Madhouse" creator Jeff Beacher and Nicky Hilton’s boyfriend, David Katzenberg, commandeered one side of the main stage at LAX. The biggest moment of the night occurred when Paris gave a birthday speech for her younger sister and played a video, which featured photos of the two growing up.

Look for both to make return trips to Vegas within the next month as Paris hosts LAX’s Halloween party on Oct. 31. Nicky returns for the opening of Company American Bistro, a new restaurant at the Luxor in which she’s an investor.

Mya shines despite fall at Jet — When a singer has a hit song, the end result is always the same. After time, the catchy tune eventually falls off the music charts.

Well, Oct. 5, it was an R&B star known for making hits who fell during her party at Jet.

Songstress Mya took her tumble during her 30-minute impromptu performance at The Mirage hot spot, where she was celebrating her 28th birthday as host of the evening’s festivities.

Mya, who has belted out such hits as "Ghetto Superstar" and "My Love Is Like Whoa," accidentally slipped off the stage as she performed, but quickly recovered and was propped back up on the elevated area where she continued her show.

The highlight of the night was when Mya sang "Happy Birthday" to the packed house before being surprised with a double-tiered cake.

Raiders go on champagne kick at Poetry — First it was poker star Antonio Esfandiari and NBA great Kobe Bryant buying bottle after bottle of champagne at Blush during its opening weekend.

This time, it was a big-spending trio from the Oakland Raiders doing the purchasing.

Quarterback Daunte Culpepper and teammates Kirk Morrison and Stuart Schweigert purchased more than 20 bottles of Cristal champagne at Poetry, located at the spot formerly called OPM inside the Forum Shops at Caesars.
