Singers, comics to perform at GirlFestival

The Las Vegas GirlFestival 2007, presented by the WorldFolk Foundation, will feature female performers at various locations across the valley this weekend.

Female musicians will perform at 5 p.m. today at Hennessey’s, 425 Fremont St., for those age 21 and older. Performances also are scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Borders, 2190 N. Rainbow Blvd., and 4 p.m. Sunday at Bruce Trent Park, 8851 Vegas Drive.

An all-ages event featuring women artists, musicians, poets, dancers and comics will take place at 4 p.m. Monday at the Clark County Library Theater, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

School hosting day of family fun

Mackey Elementary School will host a spring family festival Saturday.

The event will feature live music, games, bounce houses, face painting, crafts, games and prizes, and an art exhibition.

The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the school, 2726 Englestad St. in North Las Vegas.
