Trey Songz performing at Venetian’s Tao
Trey Songz — who performs Saturday at Tao nightclub at The Venetian — says he experienced a “shock factor” once he got fame and money after being broke during his young life.
But the R&B star, who grew up as a military brat, found the discipline not to throw fame and fortune away. Instead, he appreciates what he can do with the freedom that money and success brings.
“I can take care of my mom. I can sit in this room (a studio) and do what I love (music),” he says.
He says you have no idea how fulfilling it is to take a song from idea to conception, then record it, make a video of it and perform it for fans.
“You actually become part of somebody’s life,” he says. “It’s so dope, man. I would rather do nothing else.”
