Splash around with Steve Aoki
The happy-fun DJ-producer Steve Aoki begins a new Wet Republic dayclub residency at the MGM on Sunday, and he promises it will be fun and silly.
He’s calling it “Aokify Splash Las Vegas” (last I checked), and there’s even an iPhone app for the pool party.
“I have an app called ‘Aokify,’ where you put all these little stickers all over pictures,” Aoki tells me.
Can he give us an example?
“You have your photo. Then you put a cartoon hat on, and glasses, then you’re throwing up a rainbow out of your mouth, while holding an alien and a water gun. It makes the pictures all crazy!”
Ha. Oh, that Steve Aoki is a fun guy, which is why we all love him.
Anyway, Sunday’s “Aokify” party will be like the app, but in real life.
“It’s all about making the party more fun, like wearing different glasses and hats, and accessories like boats and life rafts,” Aoki says.
