New nightclub concept debuts at Palazzo

The newest concept by New York City theater and nightlife impresario Simon Hammerstein is open at the Palazzo: The Act. The performance-based club will entertain up to 1,000 revelers with nightly acts, including audience participation, in a multilevel space.

Designed with a nod to vaudeville theaters and Roaring ’20s speakeasies, The Act is part nightclub, part theater with the emphasis on the guests and their ability to be immersed into the evening’s entertainment. Live performances and specialty acts emerge from behind the stage and bleed into the crowd so that everyone in the room is a part of the celebration. Guests are encouraged to “act out” and enjoy.

“The Act will introduce a quality of nightlife never before witnessed on the Strip,” Hammerstein says. “Guests will lose themselves, and their inhibitions, from the moment they pass through our … doors, with time and place gradually losing their meaning and the lines becoming increasingly blurred as to where the performances end and the party begins.”

Presiding over The Act will be emcee Raven O, an eccentric talent well-known to The Box fans in London and New York City. The heavily inked Raven O — dubbed “ringleader of debauchery” — will channel a new persona for The Act that will be every bit as explosive as his former devil incarnation. Nightly performances will include group tableaus executed by a theatrically trained cast.

High-octane glamour will be delivered via The Hammerstein Beauties, classically trained dancers with an avant-garde twist. For information, visit www.theactlv.com.
